The Masters in Educational Practice (MEP) is a practice based masters programme focused on improving classroom practice and developing leadership in schools. It is a three year programme beginning in the teachers NQT year.
The MEP is designed around the every-day experiences encountered by all teachers to help those new to the profession to develop best practice and outcomes for learners.
The programme covers key professional learning areas identified as priorities for schools by the Welsh Government:
- Behaviour management
- Reducing the Impact of poverty on attainment
- Additional learning needs
- Child development
- Reflective practice
- Leading learning
- Action enquiry
Welsh Government has developed a series of interactive e-learning resource packs covering priority areas to offer professional learning opportunities for educational practitioners, as well as supporting newly qualified teachers (NQTs) engaging with the Masters in Educational Practice (MEP).
