This action inquiry project discusses the following title: How can I improve pupil's ability in the reasoning strand in the Numeracy Framework? The intervention that was put into place was a Problem Solving Station, which enabled the children to: practically, aurally and visually work out the mathematical challenge in the learning style that suited them. All practitioners in the school had involvement in this intervention which helped to develop my practice. Additionally a further development of this intervention being developed in my school at the moment so that Key Stage 2 pupils can benefit from a similar learning experience. Quantitative and Qualitative data collection methods were used. The data collection allowed the intervention to develop as the inquiry was taking place. This is because the children led the learning and therefore positive changes were made to best suit their learning styles. The intervention created a positive impact and all the learners in the targeted group took part in the intervention which enabled their attainment levels to increase in maths.
