The Education Workforce Council, in parternship with the Open University in Wales, held its third 'Professionally Speaking' event on Monday, 22 October 2018 at the Reardon Smith Theatre at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff.
We invited naturalist and TV presenter Iolo Williams and Sue Williams, Senior Education Adviser at Outdoor Learning Wales (OLW) to discuss the role of nature and the outdoors in modern Welsh education and associated wellbeing and health benefits.
Iolo is a familiar face to Welsh audiences, having presented several popular series in Welsh and English on BBC Wales and S4C, including his latest series, 'Iolo's Snowdonia'.
Sue Williams is the Senior Education Adviser at OLW, which runs the Outdoor Learning Wales programme.
They were also joined by Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM.
The audience got the opportunity to put their questions to the speakers as well as the Cabinet Secretary for Education during a question and answer session following their presentations.
The evening was presented by BBC Wales political correspondent Catrin Haf Jones.
