Statement on fees 2024/25
We have released a statement on the 2024/25 annual registration fees.
Important changes to registration in Wales
A number of registration changes have come into effect for those employing education practitioners in Wales. They include new categories required to register, and the introduction of minimum qualifications for some categories. Everything you need to know is on our website.
Update to the Code
The Code of Professional Conduct and Practice has been updated to reflect the recent changes to those required to register with us. It’s important your staff stay up to date with the information in the Code as it sets out the standards expected of them as registrants.
Fitness to practise
We have a statutory responsibility to investigate any concerns relating to the standard of an EWC registrant through our fitness to practise process. More information, including upcoming hearings and hearing outcomes, is on our website.
Changes to induction for school teachers
NQTs who gained qualified teacher status (QTS) between 1 April 2003 and 6 November 2022, have five years from 7 November 2022 to complete induction. NQTs who gained QTS from 7 November 2022 onwards have five years from the date QTS was awarded to complete induction. More information on undertaking induction in Wales is on our website.
Reaccreditation of Initial Teacher Education
We have recently reaccredited a number of initial teacher education programmes whose accreditation were due to expire in August. You can find information about all the accredited programmes in Wales on our website.
