Findings from the 2023 Further Education and Work-Based Learning Education Workforce Survey have today (30 June 2023) been released.
Facilitated by the Education Workforce Council (EWC), the survey was conducted on behalf of the national workload steering group (made up of representatives from Welsh Government, Joint Trade Union Wales, and Colegau Cymru).
In the 2021 National Education Workforce Survey, workload concerns were raised as a common issue amongst respondents. Since then, the national workload steering group has been undertaking work to address those concerns. This survey was undertaken to help assess the progress made to date.
Those asked to respond to the survey (as agreed by the steering group) were further education teachers, learning support workers, and business support staff, as well as work-based learning practitioners. All, with the exception of business support staff are required to register with the EWC.
The full report is available to read now via the EWC’s website.
