A Fitness to Practise Committee of the Education Workforce Council (EWC), sitting remotely on 4 to 6 February 2025, has found an allegation of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ proved against school teacher, Kerry David HALL.

The Fitness to Practise Committee found the following allegations proven, that whilst employed as a School Teacher at Ysgol Bryn Castell, Mr Hall:

1. on or around 13 July 2022:

1. grabbed Learner A by their arm(s);
2. pushed Learner A backwards;
3. pushed Learner A into a wall;
4. did not take steps to remove himself from the situation with Learner A and/or de-escalate the situation prior to the physical contact with Learner A.

2. by reason of his conduct in paragraphs 1a and 1b and 1c above used unnecessary and/or excessive physical force.

The Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a Prohibition Order, indefinitely removing Mr Hall from the Register of Education Practitioners in the category of school teacher. It also decided Mr Hall may not make an application for restoration to the Register of Education Practitioners before a period of 2 years has elapsed. Should Mr Hall not make a successful application for eligibility for restoration to the Register after 6 February 2027, he will remain prohibited indefinitely.

Mr Hall has the right of appeal to the High Court within 28 days.
