EWC publishes its new Strategic Plan 2022-25

The Education Workforce Council (EWC) has published its Strategic Plan 2022-25, setting out its approach to maintaining standards and enhancing professionalism within the education workforce.

Underpinned by four key objectives, the plan, which takes effect from 1 April 2022, reinforces the EWC’s vision to be a forward-looking, independent and responsive regulator that is trusted by the education workforce, learners, parents and the public.

Over the next three years, the EWC aims to:

  • be an effective regulator, working in the public interest and building confidence in the education workforce
  • support professionalism and learning within the education workforce
  • shape and influence educational policy in Wales for the benefit of the education workforce
  • be a resilient, capable and financially sustainable organisation that offers value for money to registrants

An updated version of the EWC’s Strategic Equality Plan 2020-24 has also been published, explaining how, through its role and remit, the EWC will seek to develop its approach to promoting equality and diversity over the coming years.

These plans were developed in consultation with Council members and staff, as well as stakeholders in the wider education community and the public.

A full suite of corporate documents is available on the EWC website.
