Registration and regulation

FtP case studies

In our latest Fitness to Practise (FtP) case study, we take a look at an example of where a registrant was prohibited from the Register after a proven case of unacceptable professional conduct, because of misrepresenting their qualifications.

These case studies are based on real life examples and created to give you valuable learning points, to uphold and comply with the Code, and protect your registration.

ITE accreditation

We have completed our latest round of initial teacher accreditation (ITE) provider visits. You can find the full list of accredited ITE programmes on our website.

Are your details up to date?

It’s important that your registration record is up to date and complete. Log in to MyEWC and check that all fields are populated with the latest information. That includes your name, email, home address, and current employment.

Minimum qualifications for FE teachers and adult learning practitioners

Some of our registration categories require you have minimum qualifications in order to be registered with us and to practice. Information about the minimum qualifications needed are on our website. Make sure you also log in to your MyEWC account to update your qualifications.

Supporting your registration

We have several videos on our YouTube channel to support you, including our most recent on the Code of Professional Conduct and Practice. It offers an overview of the Code, the expectations on you as an EWC registrant, and the services we offer.

Council updates

New Council members

On 2 September we welcomed two new members on to our Council who bring expertise from lecturing and senior leadership. They join the 12 other members (who have been in post since April 2023), to make a full Council cohort.

Using the PLP to support you

The Professional Learning Passport (PLP) is there to support you throughout your career, no matter what your role is. It’s not attached to any one employer, it belongs to you. As long as you’re registered with us, you can keep using it. Access it now through your MyEWC account.
